TEMPORARILY CLOSED
The Castle Inn
is temporarily closed for essential surveys of this historic building.
This is to understand if any further work is required to secure ‘The Well’ that was discovered earlier this year.
We are very grateful for our visitors' understanding during this time and hope that the Castle Inn will be able to reopen soon.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this issue may cause but assure you that the situation is totally & very sadly beyond our control.
Kindest best wishes Ed & Suzanne & all The Castle Team

A genuine warm welcome
awaits you at
The Castle Inn Chiddingstone
Welcome to our 15th Century, historic Castle Inn, the beating heart of this incredibly well preserved Tudor Chiddingstone hamlet.

The Inn atmosphere and service is always inclusive, inviting & relaxed. With cosy log fires in winter, sun terraced gardens in summer, historic features and centuries of traditions & stories threaded through the essence of the beams, everything you could hope for is provided in this quintessential village Inn.

We pride ourselves on serving the best quality range of drinks and beers, including the village brewed Larkins real ale, and serving homemade lunches & Sunday Roasts using locally sourced ingredients.

The Inn is nestled next to the Chiddingstone Castle estate, in front of the famous Chiding Stone, opposite the village Church & alongside a hamlet of beautifully preserved residential Tudor houses. Located midway between Hever Castle and Penshurst Place it is surrounded by a variety of walks, footpaths & stunning scenery.

The Castle Inn has been visited by very many footsteps throughout history. We are proud to be custodians in the next chapter of the Inns rich history and excited to share this very special place with you, our guests.
